we diverted 13 acres of teflon-coated fiberglass from a local landfill.
THIS IS THE PROJECT THAT STARTED IT ALL.
Upon demolition of the RCA/Hoosier Dome in late 2008, Indianapolis citizens and PUP Co-Founders Michael Bricker & Maryanne O’Malley approached Sabre Demolition, Shiel Sexton Powers & Sons, and the Indianapolis Parks Department with a proposal to repurpose the roof fabric of the 24 year-old, air-supported stadium.
In short, our idea worked, with nearly 13 acres of Teflon-coated fiberglass diverted from an Indianapolis landfill (roughly 90% of the total roof area). Today, we work with local designers and makers to fabricate handmade accessories from this incredible resource. Funds generated from these products help fund PUP's community projects, many of which help get the Dome Fabric back out in the city.
