POSITION: STUDIO ASSISTANT
Fundamentally, PUP is an urban design do-tank that is particularly interested in salvaging and repurposing resources pulled directly from the city. This work, both at the product and project levels, is about developing and promoting Indianapolis as an engaged, accessible, and innovative community.
The STUDIO ASSISTANT will work directly with the Director of Design + Fabrication (DDF), focusing specifically on preparing PUP resources, materials, and products for manufacturing and distribution. We work primarily with salvaged fabrics including architectural membranes, vinyls, and seat belts.
This position is part time, 18-24 hours per week on a regular schedule, paid at $14/hour without benefits. There is potential for this role to expand to a full-time, salaried position.
This position requires attention to detail, a desire to work with salvaged materials, and a head-down attitude to work quickly, efficiently, and independently. Over the past several years, PUP has developed a streamlined product-assembly process, but we’re always looking for ways to improve. We expect and welcome the Studio Assistant to jump in and help make these recommendations and improvements.

PUP is a small team that operates in an open studio environment.
