We believe in a city that addresses urban problems with intelligent and collaborative design solutions. Over the past several decades, the balance of our city has shifted away from smart growth toward a meandering placelessness. Urban sustainability is not simply an environmental issue – it is about creating spaces where people want to be, places that feel unique to Indianapolis.

For us, design is the fundamental connection between transit, environment, and urban quality of life. It is about problem-solving, invention, and ultimately, progress that aims to improve rather than maintain our city. At PUP, we plan for the city we want, not the city we have.

Though things seem to be improving, we still have a long way to go. The habitual lack of vision has placed Indianapolis 45th in the country for land use and planning and 41st for green building. We believe that through our project-based initiatives, we can begin to impact and facilitate more responsible and sustainable urban progress.
