Superhero for Hire
Lots of exciting changes coming to PUP in 2018. Now that we're finally settled into our new digs at Central State, we'll be rolling out more events, more products, and more ways to get involved.
Additionally, after guiding PUP for nearly 10 years, it is with great enthusiasm that I'm able to announce that I'll be assuming the position of Founder and Director of Public Design. This is a reduced role that will enable the organization to hire a new Executive Director. The addition of this leadership position has been a long time coming, and will enable me to focus more holistically on PUP's impact on Indianapolis' architecture, design, and public spaces.
What this means for PUP:
- I will be doing the work I do best - evaluating and executing reuse-focused urban design initiatives in Indianapolis. We plan to do more large-scale projects that enhance the quality of Indianapolis' public spaces, similar to our work with the IUPUI Redwood (more on this soon) and our PUPstop partnership with IndyGo.
- We plan to expand our programming by hosting more conversations about design and architecture. We intend to be a greater voice for these issues in our community and beyond.
- We will be looking for an entrepreneurial leader to guide the next chapter of PUP, focusing on community and business development, product development, philanthropic engagement, and scale. The job posting went live today at Charitable Advisors, and we'll be looking to all of you to recommend individuals that might be a good fit.
I am constantly amazed by the strength and resiliency of our company, and can't believe we've been going for almost a decade. This has been in large part because of you all - your counsel, your talent, your support, and our collective vision to shape a better Indianapolis for all citizens. And while I'm not going anywhere, I do want to say thank you.
So, Thank You.
If you have any questions about the Executive Director role or the future of PUP, please don't hesitate to get in touch. I've never seen our board more active or excited about this new chapter in our organization. Collectively, we're viewing this next step as an expansion, and I'm stoked to see what will unfold in 2018 and beyond.
Again, please help us find a great match. If you or someone you know can't stop talking about how great Indianapolis is and can be, who constantly thinks about design and sustainability, and who has a mind for business and social entrepreneurship, please send them the details on how to apply.
Michael Bricker is the Founder + Executive Director of PUP and works extensively in both design and film, aiming to raise the caliber and conversation of both industries in Indianapolis.
